It has something to do with the router-Smart plug mini combination because I have 2 plugs and they are not disconnected at the same time. Sometimes it takes a few days to the second unit to halt... unless both are buggy OR the product just does not work.

I have the impression that the mini is very week as a product if the router is not 100% compatible.

You may try to upgrade the firmware first according to this link: http://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-1562.html
There is a new firmware for the disconnection issue on Smart bulb and HS105.
