Kasa not logging in after update?

I updated Kasa on my Android phone, and now when I try to login to the Kasa app it keeps coming up as "Guest". I made a new account and it logged in but when I logged out and tried my primary one, then it would not login, so I tried the new account and it will not login, so I am only with "Guest"
Any help would be great. Thanks

This is happening to me as well....on two different phones.... it takes id/pwd and returns to app but Home shows guest logged in and anything requiring access when logged in (i.e. remote control) prompts for me to log in. Rest password, uninstalled and reinstalled app....still same behavior.

Since nothing received from Support e-mail or on this forum (as of yet) I started my own investigation.
Looking on: https://apkpure.com/kasa-for-mobile/com.tplink.kasa_android I could see that version 1.7.8.644 (644) for Android 4.1+ (Jelly Bean, API 16) introduced this change:
We have enhanced Kasa account credential encryption on users smart phone.
Since my issue was login related I decided to uninstall and load the version prior to 1.7.8.664 which was: 1.7.7.638 (638) for Android 4.1+ (Jelly Bean, API 16)..... following this login was fine.
Now that I know what version works I am going to work through each upgrade to identify which one actually breaks the login.
Looking on: https://apkpure.com/kasa-for-mobile/com.tplink.kasa_android I could see that version 1.7.8.644 (644) for Android 4.1+ (Jelly Bean, API 16) introduced this change:

1.7.7.638 (638) for Android 4.1+ (Jelly Bean, API 16) - Ok
1.7.8.644 (644) for Android 4.1+ (Jelly Bean, API 16) - Breaks the login.

No.....current 1.8 version does not correct....logged a ticket with support and provided my findings which they said they would send on to developer. Have not heard anything back and it has been about a month now. I keep watching for a newer release to try but 1.8 was last release which is from 8/23/17.
