I have a two node X75 mesh system set to Access Point Mode. I have an ISP given modem/router (wifi turned off) plugged into my main deco in my living room. I have ran a cat7 ethernet cable to my second deco unit in my bedroom about 40ft. away. I have gigabit service.

My problem is somehow I have signal degradation from my secondary Deco in my bedroom. My main deco will get wired speeds in the 700-800 Mbps while my bedroom deco will only get 80 to 90 Mbps. And strangely when I unplug the ethernet cable from my secondary deco and run it wirelessly, the speeds will pick up and I'll start getting 400-500 Mbps from the secondary deco. Not sure how this can be I should be getting the best speeds when I'm running wired backhaul versus Wireless backhaul but yet that's not the case. I've tested the cable I'm running and it tests good so what am I missing? Also, this is the second set of these deco units with this same issue. The first set I had the same problem as well as a faulty port but have since replaced them with new ones via warranty. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@CamOne How did you test the cable?

Did you try with another cable?

@yves_b I tested it with a ethernet cable tester. No I have not tried a different cable, I will do that next. Don't have an extra 40ft of ethernet cable lying around. Since the cable I'm using was brand new and it tested fine I was reluctant to blame the cable. Also, it apears to work at least for some of the time as when I first plugged everything in and speed tested the second node it was 900mbps+. Wasn't until I tested it last night that it was 80-90.
