Deco X5000 constant red light / WAN drop after recent firmware update - Downgrade locked
Hi everyone,
I am experiencing severe network instability with my 3-node Deco X5000 setup, and it all started right after a recent firmware upgrade.
Previously, on firmware version Deco X5000(US)_V1.60_1.4.0 Build 20241212, everything was running flawlessly. The network was rock solid, and I had zero issues.
However, ever since updating to Deco X5000(US)_V1.6_1.6.12 Build 20260513, my entire mesh system drops connection constantly. All 3 Deco nodes (including the main one connected to the modem) will suddenly turn solid red for a few seconds, cutting off all internet traffic, and then slowly recover back to solid green. This loop happens multiple times throughout the day.
My setup requires the Decos to run strictly in Router Mode because I rely heavily on Port Forwarding and MAC Cloning features. I have already optimized my local network to a standard /24 subnet (255.255.255.0) to minimize broadcast traffic, but the issue persists. It seems like the new firmware is suffering from a memory leak or processing overload when routing a large volume of local clients.
Looking online, I have seen numerous recent reports from other users experiencing the exact same behavior after this specific update. It appears to be a widespread bug with build 20260513, yet we are currently locked out from performing a firmware downgrade through the standard web interface.
Can TP-Link support please investigate this issue? Are there any official beta firmwares or hotfixes available to address this routing/stability bug?
Thank you.
