Hello TP-Link team,

I’m using an Archer TBE401UH on Windows 11 Pro (build 26200). This computer supports traditional S3 sleep; Modern Standby is unavailable. Wireless operation itself is normal, including 6 GHz with WPA3.


Device and driver

  • Hardware ID: USB\VID_3625&PID_010A
  • Installed TP-Link driver: 5102.24.126.4, dated 2025-06-17
  • Installed INF: oem74.inf, active section RTL8922au.ndi.NT


Wake results

  1. powercfg /devicequery wake_from_S3_supported lists “TP-Link Wi-Fi 7 Wireless USB Adapter.”
  2. powercfg /devicequery wake_programmable does not list the TP-Link adapter.
  3. powercfg /devicequery wake_armed does not list the TP-Link adapter.
  4. In a verified elevated PowerShell session, the following command is rejected:
powercfg /deviceenablewake "TP-Link Wi-Fi 7 Wireless USB Adapter"
You do not have permission to enable or disable device wake.
  1. Get-NetAdapterPowerManagement -Name "Wi-Fi 7" returns “A device attached to the system is not functioning.”
  2. The driver’s Advanced Properties expose neither Wake on Magic Packet nor Wake on Pattern.


Control comparison

A MediaTek USB Wi-Fi adapter on the same computer appears in both wake_programmable and wake_armed. This confirms that the host’s traditional-S3 and USB wake path can support a USB Wi-Fi adapter; the difference is specific to the TBE401UH driver/device stack.


Request

Could TP-Link confirm whether the TBE401UH supports Wake on Wireless LAN via Magic Packet from traditional S3, not only Modern Standby?

If the hardware supports it, could engineering provide a driver or beta driver that registers the appropriate wake capabilities and standard Wake on Magic Packet / Wake on Pattern settings with Windows? If it is unsupported, please confirm whether the limitation is in the driver, firmware, or hardware.

I’m happy to test a beta driver and provide additional non-sensitive diagnostics!

I have an additional, separate stability finding for the same Archer TBE401UH and driver that may be useful to engineering.


On August 5, 2026, Windows generated a kernel bugcheck while this adapter was installed:

• Windows: Windows 11 Pro 25H2, build 26200.8973
• TP-Link driver: 5102.24.126.4 (rtwlanu7.sys)
• Bugcheck: 0x139, parameter 3 — CORRUPT_LIST_ENTRY / KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE
• Windows Error Reporting bucket:
  0x139_3_CORRUPT_LIST_ENTRY_rtwlanu7!N63C_SET_OID_DOT11_WFD_SEND_GO_NEGOTIATION_REQUEST
• Minidump: 080526-16031-01.dmp


The Windows Error Reporting bucket specifically identifies the TP-Link/Realtek kernel driver while handling a Wi-Fi Direct GO negotiation request. This is separate from the WoWLAN capability issue in my original post.

Could engineering please investigate this crash signature as well and advise whether a newer or beta driver is available? I can provide the full minidump and additional diagnostics privately; I would prefer not to upload the dump publicly.

We have confirmed that our USB network adapter Archer TBE401UH  does not currently support WoWLAN.
