Model: Deco BE23
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: don't know

I just got my Deco - TP-Link system but not sure it will work with my set up. We have satelite internet connected to a router/modem in an outbuilding (husband's study) as this is where we were able to get a satelite signal. We run an ethernet cable about 100' long to the house to another router. The house has some dead spots so I was hoping to extend the wifi signal throughout the house. I thought I'd be able to connect the deco to the router in the house and it would be straightforward. However, it wants me to create a new wifi name and password. Not sure what this will do to the wifi in the study. I'm confused. Can I use the same logon as in the study? Any thoughts?

Gemini AI walked me through the process. Because the two systems are physically separated by 100' there is no interference. Setting up the Deco operating mode as an Access Point and not Router allows them to be on the same local network with different names and passwords.
