So now I am really confused... I hooked the old dummy switch up. pic attached.... When the dummy switch is in the off position the lights in the kitchen are dimmed (they are not dimmer lights) but I am able to connect to the KS210 and was able to configure it in the app but I cannot control the lights ... When the dummy switch is in the ON position the lights turn on full brightness but I am unable to use the HS210...

@Electroman please note my diagram carefully - you need to also make changes at the 3-gang box for the HS210 connection

ok so after updating the HS210 wire config in the 3 gang box, the lights turn off completely in the off position. In the on the position they work. I can control them from the app as well.. So for the dummy switch, what type of rocker switch do I need to buy? To be honest, I don't fully understand all the details here but I am very thankful I got it working with your help.

@Electroman OK, sounds like progress!

You mean you want to change out the toggle switch for a paddle (Decora) style, similar to the Kasa style?

Any brand 3-way switch will work - just ensure it is 3-way and not a std switch

You can find at HD/Lowes or order from Amazon - just search on 3-way switch

@Bethel.8009 yes, guess I am used to calling them rockers, so any 3 way switch. Ok cool, I just want the look be similar.

I think I am going to have the same issues in a few other spots in my house so all of this has been tremendously helpful

@Electroman

Compare this diagram from my Tutorial

And this is what you should have ended up with

Electrically it is identical - it just uses different colour configuration for the Traveler Romex and the fact that in your case both the Line and Load are actually present in the same box (the 3-gang box in your case)

But hopefully you can see that it is in fact ultimately electrically the same

Incidentally tip on attaching images - if you click on the image icon (between the bullets and table tools) tool on the toolbar, you can upload your image using that and then the image will be embedded directly in the post (like mine here) rather than having to make the reader download it in order to view.
