Trying to install KS200M, blinking white light, lights flashing off and on

I am trying to install a KS200M motion activated smart switch. Light is blinking white instead of orange and green. Kitchen lights flashing on and off.

Have you added the device to the Kasa App already? From what your describing its working just with no delay between detecting motion and the switch turning off. Make sure you configure the switch after installation by following the instructions here: How to Configure the KS200M Motion Settings
The first line, even says: after installation it may seem that your switch is not working correctly, so I have a feeling this is a good place for us to start

I figured out the issue but the switch initially would not let me configure it in the Kasa app, that was the whole problem. I originally did not get an orange and green blinking light, only a white flashing one and the light fixture was blinking off and on. I determined that my husband misunderstood the wiring instructions. Once that was fixed everything connected as it should. FWIW it's worth this was like the 20th Kasa product I have set up between home and work, so I knew how to do it, just couldn't figure out the error until I read the wiring instructions.
