Can I connect a single 3-way HS220 dimmer switch and use a standard style 3-way too?

HS220
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: unsure how to tell but it's the latest version per the App.
I've connected an HS220 dimmer switch, which works great from that switch, but the opposite 3-way switch won't do anything if the lights were activated from the HS220. Likewise, if the lights are activated by the standard 3-way switch the HS220 won't work at all. Please help. Thank you.
