I think you can contact them once more. Otherwise I guess you have to wait for the next update.

Hello.

Having the same problem with the Kasa App. Tried to wipe app's data, reinstall the app, register a new user - nothing worked.

I noted that when i enter a wrong password, it gives the proper error.

Also, when my email was not confirmed, the app let me in. But after I confirmed the email, kicked back to guest mode.

Can't change the device to remote control. This is frustrating.
