Model: Tapo C402 KIT
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.3.5

Quite confused I am helping someone configure their cameras. I have the same hardware 2.6 firmware updated as of last night 1.3.5. I can't figure out why it seems mine doesn't make any sound set to alarm light only. I've checked all settings I can think of

family member isn't local but I am remotely helping them but a chime as camera does the alarm flash.
Anyone notice this all cameras SAME HARDWARE, SAME FIRMWARE!

Check the current Alarm Type settings of your camera, did you choose an option that includes Sound? *Go to Camera Device Settings > Alarm > Alarm Type.

Did your camera make any sounds during the setup process, like “Camera On,” “Resetting Camera,” “Connecting to WiFi,” or other system voice prompts?

If the alarm type settings for the camera only show Light as an option, then the device is behaving as expected — if Sound isn’t selected or isn’t available as an option, the camera simply won’t produce an audible alarm.

The real question here is why the features differ between devices. Normally, cameras of the same model and hardware version should support the same set of features. Could you double-check the model, regional version (e.g., EU/US), and hardware version of each camera?

@Wayne-TP that's the thing I need to match serial number vs mac address remotely or once I get in person family can't climb the ladders

but it's NOT as expected with the chime during activation and all camera as of currently 4 configured 2 to be set up and configured running hardware 2.6 firmware 1.3.5 my camera running about a year now has never done it now alarm, light only. Just blinks and light on as expected. 1 camera at families place is same as mine expected, 1 camera chimes on EVERY activation and one chimes about 50/50 of the time.
Have been in support via email but haven't been able to match serial numbers to max address, family members can't climb ladders to get pics of labels.
But yea not sure what's with this one there isn't any option for the chime in the menus I've been able to find. Usually after first or second blink and I've even sent video example in via email.
Fluke or who knows what but family members prefer no chimes just light and all. No need for camera to announce its there with a chime every time. As it is now they were out in place as some stranger keeps showing up and had thrown sticks and bricks at family members

I don’t think the serial number is needed at the moment. You just need to confirm the product model, regional version (e.g., EU/US), hardware version, and firmware version of each device. I’m wondering if one of your cameras might actually be a different model or hardware version.

What I can tell you for sure is that if the alarm type settings don’t include a Sound option, that camera simply won’t produce an audible alert when motion is detected.

Also, I’d like to clarify something -- when you mentioned “camera chimes” in your description, are you referring to the sound alarm the camera makes when it detects motion? Or are some of those references actually about the camera’s system sounds? If you’ve mixed both together, could you please describe the issue again more clearly?

The reason I originally asked whether your camera makes any sound during configuration was to rule out a possible speaker issue. A camera that plays system sounds during setup doesn't indicate this model supports sound alarm.
