Hello,

Regarding my solar C660 cams...

When reviewing an event(s), which is out if the detection range, the recorded footage speeds through at a very high rate.  Is there a way to turn this "speeding through" off, to watch in real time?

Adjusting to a slower (1/8 or 1/16) speed is the closest I can get, but the footage is choppy.

My wired doorbell (D130) and PTZ (C560WS), allo me review in real time, or increase the playback speed.

Hello Todd,

Thank you for reaching out. This is actually normal behavior for the C660.

When 24/7 Capture is enabled, the camera takes snapshots at a lower frame rate (based on the interval you selected) during periods when no motion is detected. This is designed to conserve power. However, when played back in the Tapo app, this results in a time-lapse effect, which is why the footage appears to speed through quickly.

For more details, please refer to this FAQ article: How to Enable 24/7 Capture on Tapo Battery-Powered Cameras

We hope this clarifies the situation.

  @Hilbert-TP

My cams are set to a 1 second capture rate.

I'm guessing the lowest speeds to view footage doesn't correlate to a true "real time" viewing, unless I'm missing something.

Thanks.

Hi,

Let me clarify:

When the 24/7 Capture feature is enabled, the camera operates in two main recording modes: low- and high-frame-rate recording.

High-frame-rate recording is triggered when the device is woken by the App or by motion detection.
Low-frame-rate recording occurs during the remaining idle periods. The capture frequency during this mode depends on the capture interval set by the user.
During playback, all images captured at low frequency during that period are arranged in chronological order and played back at 15 fps.

Visually, this results in a time-lapse effect with fast-forwarded playback, and no audio is included.
