Model: Tapo C615F
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: The latest

My camera's all set up and working just fine on the TAPO app, but for some reason when I try to search for it with IP CAMS either use go ONVIF or RTSP. It doesn't even see it on my network. The crazy thing is, it sees all 21 other items that are on my network from lights to televisions to laptops and other cameras, but it doesn't even show the IP address of this camera. It's like it can't see it, like it's invisible.

Any clues as to what the heck could cause this?

  @NikRib

Thank you for your continued support of our products! Tapo battery-powered or solar-powered cameras (e.g., C4XX, C6XX, TC8X, TC9X) do not support RTSP or ONVIF because of hardware and power limitations.

These protocols are designed for always-on cameras that maintain a continuous connection with an NVR. Battery-powered cameras, however, are built for ultra-low-power operation—they stay in sleep mode most of the time and only wake up when motion is detected or when Live View is accessed.

Enabling RTSP/ONVIF on battery cameras would cause:

1. Significantly reduced battery life — continuous streaming would drain the battery rapidly, potentially requiring daily recharging.
2. Thermal and safety risks — battery hardware isn’t designed for 24/7 high-load operation, which could lead to overheating and accelerated battery aging.
Even with a solar panel, the available power isn’t enough to support continuous streaming. Keeping the camera permanently plugged in also isn't recommended, as it may cause overheating and shorten battery life.

If you need RTSP or ONVIF support, we recommend choosing a wired (constantly powered) camera model instead.
