Hardware version is important to answer which firmware you need. Find the HW version on the label near the connectors.

Hi Gastrol,

As RID2 said, CPE210 is special when upgrading the firmware. You need to identify the hardware version simply by checking the label on the back of the CPE210 itself near the Ethernet ports.

As the pic shows, the hardware version is together with S/N. V1.0 means hardware version 1.

CPE210 V2.0 has its own firmware while all other Pharos devices share the same firmware. If you have a CPE210 V2.0, download the latest at the global website(just found out your regional website doesn't sync with the global ) http://www.tp-link.com/en/download/CPE210_V2.html#Firmware make sure you choose V2, and the first firmware on that page is the latest which notes For CPE210 v2 only.

If you got a CPE210 V1 just like mine, download firmware at http://www.tp-link.com/en/download/CPE210_V1.html

i checked and it writes V 1.1.

Will this improve something or it is loss of time?Am asking because its kind risky to loose link and remote access.

For CPE210 HW V1 you can use the standard Pharos image as Carat1 did wrote already (same file as for all CPE510/WBS210/WBS510 hardware versions). It's identical firmware.

Yes, 2.6.1 greatly improves performance of the web UI. For details of other improvements of firmware version 2.x, see my post in this thread:

Looks very complicate in the web page to identify the apropriate software for updating the firmware.

Did you read the thread about updating firmware for V1.x linked to in my reply?

Yes, it might be confusing with TP-Links versioning policy, but others did find out already. You just have to read what they found out.

That's right. Some firmware updates have been released just for the new logo/corporate identity on occasion of TP-Link's 20-year anniversary. But changes are that minor bugs have been fixed without notice, too.

Anyway, hardware version 1.1 is classified as v1 on the support/download page and since firmware 2.1.6 has been officially released for hardware v1 (including v1.1) you are certainly on the safe side if you consider an upgrade.
