CPE 510 Same MAC Address for all devices?
CPE 510 Same MAC Address for all devices?

Model : CPE510

Hardware Version :

Firmware Version : Sept 2018 (most recent to date)

ISP :

After an uptime of 781 days I decided it was time to upgrade the firmware as I had been having one or two little issues. Was quite sad to have to reboot it but I did take some nice screenshots :)

My main router is showing the MAC of all machines on the other side of the bridge as being that of the CPE510 V1 - Some time ago this showed the correct MAC addresses for all devices.

I spotted the CDP option in the newer firmware (mine *was* 2015) and since this is a 'discovery protocol' I figured it may well fix the issue. It didn't.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong, this used to work, no changes to anything and I have now tried multiple routers at the main side of the AP but to no avail.

I'm in AP mode at the router side and Client mode on the remote (the side where the macs are all identical).

Suggestions?

Thanks
Steve

Most recent firmware is v2.1.11 of 2017-12-28, published 2018-01-26. September 2018 has still to come, at least where I live. :)

Not sure where you look at your router, but the ARP tables on both, my CPEs and my main router show the correct MAC addresses of the connected clients, no matter wether they are connected by wire or wirelessly to the remote CPE. CDP is the Cisco Discovery Protocol, which doesn't has anything to do with ARP. Check the ARP tables - without the correct MAC, clients could not be reached on layer 3 if the two CPEs work in AP and Bridge modes.

i have exactly the same problem! all clints behind the cpe device have the same mac address!
pi@Thermo:~$ arp
Address HWtype HWaddress Flags Mask Iface
192.168.100.10 ether c0:25:e9:71:3f:e8 C wlan0
Laptopi.fritz.box ether 70:4f:57:32:6f:18 C wlan0
192.168.100.103 ether 70:4f:57:32:6f:18 C wlan0
192.168.100.11 ether 70:4f:57:32:6f:18 C wlan0
192.168.100.12 ether 70:4f:57:32:6f:18 C wlan0
192.168.100.13 ether 70:4f:57:32:6f:18 C wlan0
fritz.box ether 00:1a:4f:08:ad:8a C wlan0
pi@Thermo:~$
the 192.168.100.10 is the a cpe510 AP and the 192.168.100.11 is a cpe510 at bridge mode.
did you find any solution?

Post screenshots of the status pages of both CPEs including:
- operation mode
- Routes
- Interfaces
- ARP table

and wireless settings including:
- WDS setting
