Hi All,

First, let me say that I'm a very technical person, but this whole 10GB networking thing comes with lots of new things to learn.

I have a T1600G-28TS switch and I wanted to utilize the four SPF ports on the device, so I purchased a 10GB network card for my windows server and two SPF cables to connect the card to the switch.

The problem is that after connecting the SPF cables to the card and then to the switch, I get no ethernet. No lights on the switch and no activity on the card.

I assume being a n00b at this, I've purchased the wrong type of cable !!

If someone could look at these two products and let me know if they should be compatible with setting up an SPF connection with a 1600G-28TS switch ?

Here is the card : https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01DCZCA3O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Here are the cables : https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00B3T6C9U/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If one or both of these are not compatible, could possible suggestions be made as to alternatives please ?

Appreciate your time and assistance.

T1600G-28TS only support SFP, do not support SFP+ , it don not support 10Gbps.
If you are using 1Gbps SFP, there are beta firmware maybe help for you.
There are one bug in T1600G-28TS V2, tp-lnk told me,
T1600G-28TS SFP port can not be set as Auto mode
You can try to download this beta firmware.
