A few weeks ago I upgraded my main switch to a TL-SG1016PE.
Generally been very happy with it.
Moved two different brand VOIP phones over to PoE (one Cisco and one Plantronics) and they work great.

So I went looking for a POE-powered (PD) 8-port switch, fed from this switch, which would be in a different room, and allow me to get rid of a power-brick for a switch there.

I purchased the Netgear GS108Tv2, which seems to be generally well reviewed.
(I did update to latest firmware, and make sure it's reset to factory defaults.)

What I have found, however, is:

- If the GS108T is connected to a non-PoE port (ports 9-16) and a power-brick, it works fine, passes traffic, etc.

- If the GS108T is connected to a PoE port (ports 1-8) and a power-brick, I get link lights, but no traffic passes at all.
Looking in Monitoring on the SG1016PE, it shows some RxGoodPkt, but no Tx at all (and no bad packets).

- If I do not connect the power-brick, and I plug it into a PoE port, nothing happens - it does not power on.

Is this a known issue? Is there some setting that I'm missing somewhere, to make the PoE stuff work between those two devices?

Thanks!

I think you can connect two PCs to SG1016PE and GS108T. And use two PCs to ping each other to check the problem.
