So we want to be able to use WOL and we have a web server behind a router that we want to be able to have port 80 on the WAN forwarded to port 80 on a IP on the LAN.

@ftwig As the name suggested, WOL is designed to wake-up a machine through a local network. So you have to be in the same network with your target device to make it work. In this step, we will try to do just that.
First, you have to turn on the WOL feature on your motherboard. Enter the BIOS setup and look for “ Wake up on PCI event” or “ Wake up on LAN” and enable it.
Second, on Ubuntu, you have to know your default interface, check if it supports WOL, and turn on the feature. try to visit https://en.savefrom.net/11-how-to-download-vimeo-video.html for more info.

Look this code

$ route #Get name of the default interface, for example: eth0
$ sudo ethtool eth0
#Look for "Supports Wake-on: g" line, which means WOL supported
$ sudo ethtool -s eth0 wol g #Enable WOL

@ftwig Hi

To open a port on the TP-Link WR940N router you need to:

  1. Setup a static IP address on the device or computer you are forwarding these ports to.
  2. Login to your Huawei HG8245H router.
  3. Find the port forwarding section.
    • Click the Forward Rules link.
    • Click on Port Mapping Configuration.
  4. Create a port forward entry.

I hope this helps!

Ruskin
