@CsGabor Can i ask: I have the T1599G-10MP and the fan noise is way too high for me also.  By reading this thread, can I assume that the heat is generated from the PoE function of the switch?  I am thinking of removing the fan altogether since I only use it for standard switching of Ethernet and one of the the fibre ports in my media room (no PoE, no management functions activated). I checked and CPU usase at max is 4%. What do you think?

Hi, I also add myself to the list of those who ask for a system to control the fan and its noise.
I have just purchased a T1500G-10MPS and without anything connected it is extremely loud.
I updated the firmware to the latest version but it hasn't changed.
I expect that without load the fan will turn off and activate only if there really is a need.

@CsGabor Hello, how you rate your modification-fan change to Noctuas? Did you check temperature before/after change? And the two Noctuas have same connector type as originals or you have to change it too? How about 3rd wire signal, is it OK or FAN error appears on the front panel? Stock fan have revolution detection (white cable).

I was unable to find a better (quieter, accurate airflow) Sunon fan, with 3 wires. With two wires I think It will work, but FAN led will signalize fault.

EDIT: maybe SUNON MB40201V2-000C-F99      - 21dB, 7,7CFM could be an adequate replacement, but it is hard to obtain. Some of them are on e-bay, but I am afraid that they are clones, not originals.

@PedroKV

I have installed Noctua flex with 3 Pins, and started the switch TL-SG2428P and the fans works with no audible noise but the fan Led shows yellow then i have turned the connector the way around and they still works but the fan Led was flashing green/yellow

So you need to trun the connector to get it detecting the RPM but the RPM is less than the desired RPM of the switch. And it's noticeable that air flow is less with Noctua.

The T1500G-10MPS has the same problem.

I bought a Noctua NF-A12x15 FLX and modded the switch.
The original fan is capable of rotating at about 8000 rpm so any fan you install that fails to do the same will turn on the orange alert light.

Obviously the warranty is void but that's okay with me because I got used it at a bargain price.
