Hi all,

Could you tell me differences between 2 firmware versions:

CPE610(UN)_2.0-up-ver2-2-1-P1[20190812-rel33034].bin https://static.tp-link.com/2019/201908/20190821/CPE610(UN)_V2.0_2.2.1_Build%20190812.zip

CPE610(UN)_1.0-up-ver2-2-1-P1[20190718-rel41042].bin https://static.tp-link.com/2019/201908/20190821/CPE610(UN)_V1.0_2.2.1%20Build%20190718.zip

They are not only for CPE610 v1/2, they can run fine on almost all Pharos devices except CPE210 v2/v3.

Which version contains lastest fixed bugs and enhancements?

What does "rel" mean? Release? If yes, why the older firmware (build 20190718) has bigger release number (41042)?

Thanks very much,

See release notes.

V2.2.1-P1 for CPE610 V2 (built 2019-08-12, published today):

Modifications&Enhancement

1. Upgrade OpenSSL version from 0.9.8k to 1.0.2q, and support TLSv1.2 protocol.
2. Optimize the memory usage of web server.
Bug Fixed:
Fixed the bug that the SSID content of probe request packets may be abnormal.

V2.2.1-P1 for CPE610 V1 (built 2019-07-18, published today, too):

Modifications&Enhancement
1. Upgrade OpenSSL version from 0.9.8k to 1.0.2q, and support TLSv1.2 protocol.
2. Optimize the memory usage of web server.

CPE610 V2.2.1-P1 installs on CPE510 v1.1, but note that CPE610 and CPE510 hardware differ, e.g. LED #5 not lit on CPE510 running V2.2.1.

I installed WBS510 V2.2.1 build 2019-07-18 on my CPE510 v1.1, LED #5 works. Also installs on CPE210 v1.0 and WBS210 v1.20.

According to TP-Link it is an internal number. Does not necessarily increase with newer firmware versions.

BTW: It's »Pharos«, named after the famous lighthouse of Alexandria, not »PharOS«. wink

Wow thanks,

Could you tell me more about hw differences between CPE610 and the rest of CPEs (WBSs). Using CPE610 fw on other devices can cause problems?

Only TP-Link could tell you about hardware differences.

Yes, CPE610 firmware should be used only for CPE610 as long as for CPE210/510 or WBS210/510 the new firmware is available, too. The latter models are very similar, so you can run WBS510 firmware on CPE510 and CPE210 v1, but not on CPE210 v2 or v3. Pharos will refuse firmware if not suitable for a given model.
