CPE 510 takes my internet down
I need some help figuring out how to get a wireless connection to an outbuilding, about 200 ft away from the equipment room in my basement.
I started out by installing an Archer A6 router, hoping that all the little antennas would help, but it's still too far. Powerline and range extenders were also a bust.
I got a CPE510 and configured it for repeater mode since I have a LAN cable on my porch which gives perfect line-of-sight to the outbuilding. Changed the CPE address to 192.168.0.252, and linked it to the 5G on the A6. My problem is that every time I plug the CPE into my LAN, my internet gets very slow, and within 1 or 2 minutes I lose internet completely. Feeling like there's some setting I need to change on either the router or the CPE, but I have no idea what.
Thanks for any help you can give me before I have to go out and dig a trench!

Seems to me like a network loop. Not sure because network topology isn't clear from your description.
You should always use two CPEs to create a stable directional link. You could connect to your Archer (indoors?), too, but expect unstable and slow link then, because the Archer might have a weak signal over 200 ft - not the CPE. What's more, the CPE uses 5 GHz outdoor channels, while indoor APs most often use indoor channels (depends on your country's regulatory domain).
This is the typical scenario for connecting two distant places over a directional wireless link between two CPE510:

I feel silly now. I thought that after the CPE was programmed, it still needed to be connected by Cat05 cable to my network. Unplugged the cable, and now it appears to be working.
Thanks very much!

MalC123, you're welcome. Great that it works now, have fun with the CPE!

Sorry, im late on this conversation.. But works the archer a6 like this? Only with a ethernet cable from the cpe510 to the router a6 yo share wireless Internet? Thanks in advance ...
Ps: it works with a archer c7 too?

@jalmeidam This message is a bit outdated. I since changed the CPE on my house to Access Point mode, assigned it to 192.168.0.252 and connected it to my home LAN. The CPE on the barn is in Client mode and assigned to 192.168.0.250. My solar panel controller is plugged into the barn CPE and works like a charm. I also get great WiFi all around the barn area. I presume I could attach a router to the barn CPE to run other wired devices out there, but I don't really have the need. I'm very happy with the way it's working.

A router can be connected to the remote CPE, too, but your LAN behind the router will be a separate subnet unrelated to the network the PtP link is part of. You can share Internet this way, yes, but not devices on the local network.
You could also use a router as an access point. To do so, disable the DHCP server on the router and connect the remote CPE by cable with one of the LAN ports (not WAN!) of your router. In this mode you can share devices on the same network the PtP link is part of.
