Hi everyone! I'm using TL SG1005P POE switch for EAP110 INDOOR, EAP225-OUTDOOR and OC200. The eap110 just arrived today and after I plug it in on the 1st port it does not power the EAP110. But both EAP225 and OC200 work just fine. I tried to plug it alone in the switch in every port but unfortunately it does not work at all. The poe adaptor works fine but I dont want to use it. What should I do?

@Wootie, according to the specifications, EAP110-Outdoor does not support the PoE standard IEEE 802.3af.

It rather uses passive PoE (24 volts). Use the included adapter for power supply of an EAP110-Outdoor.

@R1D2 I also have EAP-110, OC200 and TL-SG1005P. I found out that the EAP-110 is not compatible with my PoE switch. I decided to use the Passive PoE Adapter for EAP-110. In the Passive Adapter, I put the PoE port to the antenna and the LAN port is to OC200 (Ethernet2 port, because the PoE port is used by the PoE Switch).
Here's my curious question, in the Passive Adapter, can I put the LAN port to the PoE Switch (1-4 port)???
Does it overload the system??? Please help me.

Sure, you can connect the EAP adapter's LAN port to one of your switch ports.

A PoE switch performs tests whether the connected device is a powered device (PD) or not and will turn on PoE power on this port only if it did recognize a compatible PD connected to this port.

 

The EAP's LAN port on the adapter signals the switch that it is no PD, so the switch won't turn on PoE power on its port connected to the EAP's LAN port.

 

What must be strictly avoided is to connect the PoE (out) port of the EAP's PoE adapter to any other device than an EAP, resp. its PoE (in) port. With so-called passive PoE the PoE adapters do not negotiate with a connected device, they just output 24 volts on the PoE (out) port no matter what you connect to the port.
