All three CPEs are always alternately sending (one after another) and receiving, otherwise you couldn't exchange data.

CPE710 has a parabolic antenna (Cassegrain style) and therefore is best used in a PtP scenario, that means two CPEs only.

In a PtMP scenario (more than two CPEs) you need to ensure that the clients are inside the antenna beam width of the AP, which for a CPE710 is only 9º (Azimuth) / 7º (Elevation), i.e. a pretty small beam width.

If you can ensure that both CPE clients fall into the AP's beam width, the operation modes you have in mind are correct: one CPE operates in AP mode, the other two operate in Client mode. It doesn't matter which CPE is the AP and which CPEs are the clients.

Best settings for CPE710 are:

  • Channel: either Auto or most unused channel (use WiFi survey to find out the best channel)
  • Channel width: 80 MHz if you have 16 consecutive channels which are not overcrowded, else 40 MHz or 20 MHz
  • WiFi mode: 802.11ac only
  • Distance setting: either Auto or real distance + 0.1km
  • Antenna alignment: the most critical point. You need to properly align the antennas and the link requires a fresnel zone clearance of at least 40%, better 20%.

You can also enable MAXtream in a PtMP setup. This will ensure that the two client CPEs get equal AirTime and bandwidth, albeit the total bandwidth will decrease somewhat b/c of the MAXtream protocol overhead.
