Problems with TL-SG2210P and RJ45-UL

Model: SG2210P
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

We have here a TL-SG2210P V1

It was working fine for quite a while as desktopswitch on a SFP-Fiber-uplink.

Now we had to switch to RJ45 due to Maintenance of the fiber and the switch just stopped working totally.

The Power-LED of the PSU is just slightly flashing. If we unplug the RJ45 from the UL-Switch the TL-SG2210P boots up fine.

POE is disable both on the UL-Switch and the TL-SG2210P. We also tried to leave the PSU of the TL-SG2210P away and power it with the UL-switch as POE-PD unfortunately this switch is booting but the connected POE-PD's are not supplied.

Is the switch somehow damaged?

Are we thinking/doing somehow wrong?

Is there any way to use the TL-SG2210P with uplink by RJ45 cat 6 from another switch?

@fishbone222

Hi there, do you mean if you connect the TL-SG2210P to the UL-Swicth with an ethernet cable, the LED light on the port of SG2210P is not lit up, and no any transmission between the two switches?

How about using one signal cable connect from one port to another port on the SG2210P itself?

@John1234

Thx for your reply.

I connect the TL-SG2210 to it's PSU and wait until the switch is booted.

Then I connect the switch to the Uplink-Switch and the TL-Sg 2210 turns immediately totally off and the lamp of the PSU starts flashing.

I tried with different UL-Switchs. ( TL-SG3424, another TL-Sg 2210, Juniper 4300)

I tried with another PSU.

I tried with different Cat-cables.

I tried with all Ports of the tl-sg2210p

Each time the same result.

@John1234

I made a Video to assist the description.

The Video starts right after powering the tl-sg2210p with it's PSU.

You see how it boots up and shows link to the connected client (Port 2)

On 0:19 i connect the uplink connected to Port 1 of the tl-sg2210p to another switch.

The switch turns off immediately.

It's hard to see on the video but the PSU-LED turns from solid green to sightly green flashing.

Is there any idea how to fix that failure?
