config to use external antenna in wireless setting done means you did it right
clients conected and internet working OK so far every thing is OK as you post
but as soon as i change my position and go beyond to AP signals are gone i dont understand what this means
means builtin dirctional antenna is OK but not working with external antenna please help.... you have answered your issue, if all is as you post use your warranty

how long is the pig tale cable you using I'm using a 50cm cable.

Also what postion have you installed the antenna H or V & what setting you put for the for the WAP?

You should try the range settings ..


Wireless > Distance Settings > Select Manual and set distance range to 110 % Approximately

Also

Wireless > Wireless Advanced > Antenna Settings : Vertical/ Horizontal (Try Both) , Beacon Interval : 100, RTS Threshold : 2346

Be Sure to reboot after applying settings .. For better connectivity always activate Ping Watchdog :)

TL-WA5210G has built-in directional antenna, which means the wifi is sent out from the flat surface; while TL-ANT2415D is an omni-directional antenna.
The performance will be reduced in that way.

Different antennas fit for different situation.
As said before TL-ANT2415D is an omni-directional antenna which send signal in a way like the water ripple; while TL-WA5210G has built-in directional antenna.

I have yet to find anyone that has sucsessfully got these two items to work?

The built-in antenna gain of TL-WA5210G is 12dBi.
Even with the same gain value, a omni antenna needs several times the input power to achieve the same distance of a directional antenna ( on the emission direction ).

I dont think using a 12dbi omni antenna can have a good performance as the built-in one. :(

Same devices same configuration and same problem here.
I even tried with 3 brand new TL-WA5210G and get the similar result. My other colleges also have same problem with TL-WA5210G external antenna support.
I have tried many different External Antenna, tried different antenna type (Grid, Omi, Parabolic), tried different antenna brand. I also tried with $200+ 2.4Ghz Hyperlink Antenna with no success.

My cheap Indoor TL-WA5110G has a lot better result than my TL-WA5210G with same external antenna configuration.


I guess TP-Link is Just Fail to provide External Antenna support in their TL-WA5210G.

Maybe "TL-WA5210G External Antenna Feature" is only for marketing gimmick?
