Hi guys,
Can anyone help with out this one?
I have purchased a TP-LINK TL-WA5210G & 2.4GHz 12dBi Outdoor Omni-directional Antenna (TL-ANT2412D)
The plan was to install this on a lampost and give users that are about 10 meters away internet access.
There are 8 holiday homes postioned all at 360 degrees around this lampost.
If I just have the TP-LINK TL-WA5210G set up a aceess point the signal I get is about 2 bars on my laptop with speed about 49Mbs, so ok ish?
When i change the setting to external aerial the signal gets alot worse, about 2 bars 19Mbs and loads of drop outs.
How can the Wi-Fi signal get alot worse if I connect an massive external aerial.
I have to say using these TL-WA5210G's as a point to point network is really good but very disapointed when using these as a AP with an external aerial.
Has anyone else used these sucsesfully ?
Many thanks
