Does anyone know if there are plans to offer either a router or wireless router that is Omada compatible but not VPN? I want features in Omada Controller that are only available with an Omada Gateway but I do not need the VPN, and it appears the compatible routers are all VPN. It also appears the throughput is reduced on the VPN routers. I just need management in one location (Omada Controller) but no VPN.

Sure, you can do it and put the WiFi router into the AP mode.

You don't have to use or enable any "VPN" options on these omada routers.  Just use it like any other router.

If there is any Internet router that does not offer a VPN server, and I doubt it, it is a dirty cheap and slow router most likely. If you need a fast Internet router, you need to look for one that was designed to work with 1Gb Internet. I have tested with iperf3 the routing speed of ER7206 in its default settings and it is pretty good, about 930-940 Mb/s. That is very close to the speed of my switches on 1 Gb links, about 950 Mb/s .

@KJK Ok that is minimal performance hit. I can deal with that. I have never messed with VPN. This is my current topology. Would this drop in place of the wireless router that is between modem and switch?  And then I am assuming I can then plug that wireless router into the LAN port of the ER7206 so it continues to provide wireless to that area.
