I am having the same problem so I suspect it is a problem with the software or the firmware in our switches which is supposed to support the Easy Smart Utility

Device Description TL-SG1024DE
MAC Address 10:fe:ed:ff:f9:62
IP Address 192.168.1.253
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.1.254
Firmware Version 1.0.1 Build 20131023 Rel.33093
Hardware Version TL-SG1024DE 1.0

My PC
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : home
Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::9d15:2a90:9c66:804f%11
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.86
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.254

Any thoughts (relating to the problem)?

You need to make sure that both your PC and the Switch are within the same network.

You cannot just connect your switch directly to your existing network. You need to connect it to a PC first, and set your IP to be on the 192.168.0.0 network. The default IP of the Switch is 192.168.0.1, so set your PC to 192.168.0.2.

What is probably happening, is that your PC is on the 192.168.1.0 netowrk, while the switch is on the 192.168.0.0 network.
