Unable to ping second TL-WA7510N from outside of System Tools

Region : Australia

Model : TL-WA7510N

Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version : 3.12.6 Build 130427 Rel.69746n

ISP : Internode

I have a short network set up to share my internet in my house with my garage, using two TL-WA7510N access points. Both of which are set up in Bridge Mode to each other. These are the settings:

Transmit Power: 17dBm
Channel: 149:5745MHz
Mode: 11NA HT40
Max Tx Rate 150Mbps
Distance Setting: Indoor (as total distance is only about 30m).
DHCP: Disabled

Wireless Max filtering enabled (although this didn't affect the issue I'm having).

I'm getting strong signal (100%) and I can access the internet fine from the shed. I can also ping the second AP from the first, inside the System Tools (192.168.1.254). The second is set to 192.168.1.253. However, I cannot ping or log into 192.168.1.253 from the cmd, or from any other devices on the same network. And I cannot ping any devices which are connected to that network down there, however the internet is working fine.

I could previously connect to it, but not anymore. Not sure why not? Is there a way to allow these connections?

I plan on having a NAS down the back, and if I cannot connect to it, it's not much use.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Steve

Difficult to figure out what had happened in your network, something maybe changed..

I suggest you to set up AP + Client mode, which is better than the old bridge mechanism on 7510.

AP: 192.168.1.254
channel: static channel, recommended to use 149~161
Mode: 11NA HT40
Security: WPA2-PSK/AES
Max Tx Rate 150Mbps
Distance Setting: Indoor (as total distance is only about 30m).
DHCP: Disabled

Client: 192.168.1.253
channel: static channel, recommended to use 149~161
WDS: enabled
Lock to SSID.
Mode: 11NA HT40
Max Tx Rate 150Mbps
Distance Setting: Indoor (as total distance is only about 30m).
DHCP: Disabled

Try this and see whether it helps or not

This is how I initially had it set up, but was disappointed in the performance.

For some reason, I find that when in the AP/Client configuration, I get significantly less speed. I ran a speed test from the garage on www.speedtest.net before and after.

When in Bridge->Bridge mode, I got:

Download: 4.83Mbps
Upload: 0.76Mbps
Ping: 38ms

Then switched over to AP->Client, I get:

Download: 2.75Mbps
Upload: 0.67Mbps
Ping: 91ms

As you can see, in this configuration, my network performs not much over half capacity.

This is with WDS enabled.

EDIT: Okay, I left it in this configuration for a while, and speeds improved back to the same level. So far it's looking better, but I'll have to check in the morning once the second network goes idle again.
