5.2.0 firmware bricking EAP245v3
5.2.0 firmware bricking EAP245v3
Hi,
Upgraded from 5.1.0 to 5.2.0 via Omada. Bricked all our EAP245v3 hardware.
Couple of points:
- In Omada controller, I see that the access points have 5.2.0 loaded. So the upgrad worked, but after that things are bricked.
- Connecting to the access point's web interface states that it's under management of Omada. Resetting in the web interface doesn't work.
- The reset button at the back doesn't work in creating a factory reset. No flashing lite.
- Tried resetting via tftp, to no avail. The access point is requesting the firmware ("EAP245v3_up.bin") and I see successful transfer of the complete file, but the access point is not flashing the firmware onto the device.
Will open a support ticket, but wanted to see whether others have similar experience.
Argh! I thought 2 months of release beta testing by others was sufficient.

I tried flashing numerous times, but EAP245 immediately power cycles when TFTD finishes file transfers.
Only 5.3.3 stays on for like 3sec after file transfer, but power cycles and nothing happens.
On wireshark, I see that it's booted up, but looks like WIFI and other necessary stuff is not running.
Reset button doesn't work as well.
Can't access 192.168.0.254.
I'm lost.

Hello,
I've experienced this exact issue. It seems flashing to any older firmware is producing a functioning AP however, the 5ghz spectrum is extremely slow (averaging 100-200mbps at 3ft).
Were you able to flash to a firmware which restored the speeds or am I replacing 4 2 of my APs?
Edit: Two APs that failed the v5.2 firmware update from v5.0.5 are extremely slow in both the 5ghz and 2.4ghz spectrum. I've successfully flashed back to 5.0.5, 5.0.4 and 5.0.3 but I'm getting the same speed results. Luckily I only manually pushed firmware to 2 of 4 - other two are working as normal on 5.0.5. I've reached out to support as I'm out of ideas.
