Hi,

after updating 2 switches and restore config, i found there was no password restored.
Ok set the password in WebGui and save. Now am am not able to Login again, every time wrong password.
Bad but let's try it over serial.
Connction ok, than
enable
config

TL-SG3424(config)#user tplink password password type admin status enable (same as in cli guide)

TL-SG3424(config)#user tplink password password type admin status enable

------------------------------------^

Error: Invalid parameter.

So something has changed in this firmware that is the reason why the backup was not setting the password...
Who has the hint how to add a user or set the admin password in the right way.

thx markus

Result: CLI commands changed in new firmware, CLI PDF not up to date

Reset to default settings over serial console
Updated to the newest Firmware
Releasedate 21.07.2014
Firmware Version : TL-SG3424_V1_140721
to try a conf restore, in serial console i saw some errors (now no space allowed in descriptions) and also with password setting.
Connect to WebIF made a backup an now the password is encrypted in the conf.cfg file and the syntax is different:

user name admin privilege admin secret 5 $1$some%char%and\signs

May someone can modify the CLI Reference PDF to descripte the secret parameter and how to input a normal unhashed password wit the cli.
