Hallo

My name is Ulf, I live in Denmark, and this is my first post on this forum. :)

I am quite new to configuring a switch, that is what my question is about.

I have both an HP server and a NAS, both with two NIC's, which I can team to get better performance. How can I team 2 x 2 ports on my switch to be able to get the performance between the two servers?

I have tried to look through the manual, but cannot find anything - maybe because I am not 100% sure what it is called.

Thanks in advance.

Br

Ulf

Hi,

under GUI Switching-LAG: LAG Table Static LAG, LACP

called also sometimes Trunk, Teaming.

LACP is load balances it uses Hash Algorithm of source IP, destination IP or souce MAC, destination MAC to define flows, then round robins these and flows across the members of the trunk links.
In your case traffic going between the same two servers the hash will always the same so your traffic will always go across the same link = 1GB, but with more clients accessing the same server you use more trunk member link.
Hope your NAS and the Server are so fast to serve these speed from the disc system to the net:confused:

regards
