Region : Argentina

Model : TL-SL2210WEB

Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version :

ISP :

I configured two computers to use 9000 bytes jumbo frames. When I connect them directly I can ping with large frames. When I connect both to my new TL-1016DE, ping times out. Note that I do not get the message that "Packet needs to be fragmented but DF set", it just times out. The switch is a black hole. What gives?

BTW, the ping command is:

ping 192.168.0.20 -f -l 8972

JurekM, I have the same problem.
Contacted TP-LINK support before. The problem is reproduced by TP-LINK technician as well. We have to wait for a solution...:)

Thank you. It is good to know I am not alone. And that TP-Link is aware of this.

I got an answer from TP-LINK, “the problem only occurs on ICMP packets which are limited to 2KBytes on SG1006DE; other packets supports 9K jumbo frame ”.
Actually, it won't affect your applications...

Thanks for the info. However in my case this is not very reassuring. I have iSCSI targets on Qnap file server and initiators on Windows servers with only this switch in-between. This works fine with no jumbo frames and dies with jumbo frames. I can see that TCP session is initiated but there is no data transfer. Maybe I will try the "Port Mirror" feature to capture iSCSI traffic.

@JurekM This switch is piece of shite. I am so angry I had bought it. Waste of money and time. Jumbo frames won't work, it doesn't support LACP. The GUI is pathetic. Waiting for my new HP ProCurve, when it arrives I will throw that sg1016de outta window. And never again TP-LINK will get my money. End of story.
