Hi all

I am just in the middle of setting up a CEP210 to cover some network black spots

using regular Cat5 cables in the workshop I logged on to the device using the default settings and started to make the changes needed. I allowed the device to reboot, reset my laptop ip address and everything was fine.

When I took the device outside to test it with the external cable the green lights on the unit started to show signs of life then just kept showing all the lights and going off. This was on a permanent cycle

I returned the unit to the workshop I now get the power light and the lan0 lights on but nothing else. I can't access the control panel through the ip address I set nor the default ip address

Does anyone have any ideas as to what I need to try next? I have tried a series of different Cat5 cables but this doesn't have any effect

Make sure the PC which you want to access CPE210's control panel is in a same subnet as CPE210.
You can reset CPE210 with the reset button and assign 192.168.0.100/24 to your PC, then you will be able to access CPE210 through 192.168.0.254.

Hi winstar thanks for the reply

I did make sure that everything was in the same subnet.

The original setting on the unit as supplied is in the 192.168.0.xxx and the subnet we are using for this application is on the 192.168.1.xxx. I have put a fixed ip of 192.168.1.200 on the unit and the web based control panel works a treat.

The kit is set up as follows

Broadband router with our ssid sits in the office

The office is in a building which is surrounded by steel, this completely blocks any Wi-Fi signals in or out, hence us needing to put this in place.

The PoE box is connected directly to the router with a 0.5m Cat5 cable

From the PoE box there is a suitable 60m cable

The unit is mounted in the perfect place externally

Nothing is available through the extender unit.

I was working on something else and unplugged the router from the PoE box and all of a sudden I could get to the control panel via the 192.168.1.200 address. To be fair the unit was pretty much next to the wireless router. Plugging the PoE box back in to the router then stopped the access to the gui.

None of this makes any sense, everything is set up as it should be.

I'd appreciate some suggestions, thanks
