Model : CPE210

Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version : 1.2

ISP : public wifi

Hello all!!, I'm very confused here....
Today I installed a CPE210 as CLIENT of a public wifi provider. Connect my notebook to the POE's lan port and as usually gain access to the CPE210 admin page, configure everything and test the connection and all was really good.

Next step I disconnect the UTP cable from my notebook and connect it to the WR740N wan port (blue port). That was my first surprise... The router get NO Link.....
I tried to connect to any of the four switch ports on the WR740N and no one get Link...

I try to connect with the same cable from the router wan port to my notebook, and works perfect. Also the other four ports.

I replaced the utp cable supplied with the router for a crossover cable and connect wan router port, to lan POE port and it didn't work also!

For the last, I replaced the WR740 with another one fresh new I have and it didn't work!
Connect my notebook again to the POE's lan port, and it work perfect.

The only strange thing I see is that routers port are all only 4 pin conector, not eight.

Have any one face this situation?

regards
Eduardo.

Is your topology as below?
Public Wi-Fi))) ((( CPE210(client)——(WAN port) WR740 (LAN port)——PC

What do you mean by ‘
The router get NO Link.....’? Can you login WR740N's admin page?
Where is your DHCP server? What's the IP of these devices?

Hi Winstar
Yes my topology is as you mention.
With "No Link" I mean that the router dind't get the ethernet port link led ON, just like if the utp were not connected.

I did another test.... I could get another antenna, a WA7210N and replace the CPE210, everything get working perfect!

But if I connect directly my notebook to the CPE210 it works properly, (CPE210 LAN0) ---------- POE ------- LAN------PC

Could be an incompatibility between CPE210 POE and 740n wan port?
Remember that 740N have only 4 wires in the LAN port

Sounds strange, they should be compatible with each other...
I have tried here and when I connect WR740's WAN port to CPE210 POE adapter's 2nd LAN port, the WR740's WAN port LED will turn green...
Try to change a network cable and connect
WR740's WAN port directly to CPE210's 2nd LAN port.
