I installed and everything seems to be working. However the config utility tells me the switch is at 192.168. 0.1 and must be configured from a device in the same IP subnet. Everything on my router, including the 3 devices attached to the switch, is 192.168. 1.n - it does not show an attached device at that IP. So how do I resolve?

Thanks,

Edit> Double-clicking the switch line gave me the error, but then realized that clicking the settings button let me log in and change the IP to a 192.168.1.n. So now my question is whether I should turn on DHCP, and whether I should set up a DHCP reservation for the switch?

Hi,the default IP address of the switch is 192.168.0.1, you must change the IP address of the config PC to the same subnet so that you can login to the managed page. U can connect only one PC to the Easy Smart Switch and desigante the PC with the static IP of the subnet 192.168.0.X, and then you can changed the switch to the IP of the subnet 192.168.1.X. Then verything will work fine. Best luck!

Thanks, but I actually didn't have to change the PC's IP to the 192.168.0 subnet - clicking the switch's IP Settings column let me change the switch to an unused address in the 198.162.1 subnet. Once changed I could log in to to full config. That appears to set a static IP for the switch, while I assume that turning on DHCP would let router assign. So what's the best setup - static or DHCP, with or without reservation?
