Model: EAP211-Bridge KIT
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.0.1 Build 20250318 Rel. 84701(5553)

Installed a EAP211 bridge kit and the interface claims the bridge network is working, 630Mbps TX, 571Mbps RX.

The problem is that I cannot reach anyting from the client side of the bridge.  From the Main AP side, I can connect to both the Main AP and the Client AP through a web browser, it seems everything is working.  But if I connect a laptop to the network on the client side, try to ping either TPLink EAP211s, I just get timeouts (that is with a manually configured IP address on the client side).  If I jsut enable DHCP on the client side of the bridge, the laptop is not able to get a valid IP address at all.

Any configuration changes anyone can see that might help this?

Thanks.

Thanks NeilR_M.

I drilled an orifice in the wall and connected to the Lan2 port and that solved the problem.  That said, I was replacing an older/cheaper TPlink bridge and that worked fine with the same configuration.  I believe it was a CPE210 that had no Ethernet ports.

Sadly, the network does not work very well.   If I run a speed test, it says I get ~80Mbps.  I am using Google Wifi on both ends and the wifi keeps cutting out.   Tomorrow I will try to connect a long ethernet cable from the switch, see if that works better.

@BernWood   Now I note that on the client interface it does say "LAN1 (POE In) Down).  I have the LAN interface on the passive POE power connected to a switch.  I an not sure why that would say "down."  on the Main AP side, I have the same set up and it says "1000 Mbps - FD."

@BernWood Can you connect the laptop directly to the Bridge AP's ethernet ports to check, rather than through the passive PoE adapter? Alternatively, can you connect to the PoE adapter directly rather than to a switch? Just to see if the problem is possibly with the switch itself.

Another way to check is if you can connect to the client AP's SSID, if you are able to get an IP through that, it's likely the switch that is the issue.
