Good day,

 

I currently have 2 x Wifi Ptz camers that I would like to connect to my home network, less than 80m away, with clear line of site.

 

I purchased a CPE210 to attempt this.

 

Unfortunately, when I connect the unit to my current mesh system, as an AP(with separate SSID), or as a repeater,l my existing wifi becomes intermittent and the unit's SSID seems to switch on and off constantly.

 

The unit also only manages a speed of 10Mbps, while my normal 2,4G network averages 70Mbps and my 5G network averages 190Mbps.

 

Please advise, if there is something I am missing in the config, since my old Indoor AP's seem to outperform this unit hands down and I may need to return it for credit.

Hi  @JKTCEEE 

 

CPE is not recommended for use as a repeater/bridge to extend the wireless signal to terminal equipment.

Reason:

1)      CPE built-in directional antenna, the signal is concentrated in the front panel, and the rear panel signal is weak.

2)      CPE is mainly used for long-distance point-to-point connections, not wireless range extension.

 

 

For your situation, you may consider the EAP211-bridge KIT.

Thank you for your reply.

The local team have assisted me with the challenge.

As per my original post, I was looking to connect 2 cameras direct line-of-site line-of-site less than 80m away, not looking for a 1km bridge kit.

It seems to be functioning now, will just monitor the reliability over the next few days.
