Omada V6 – VLAN configuration no longer available in Port Profiles (Feature Request / Feedback)
Hello everyone,
I currently have around 30 switches deployed across multiple installations (including SG3452X-Series and SX6632YF).
After upgrading to Omada Controller V6, I noticed that VLAN configuration is no longer part of the Port Profiles, as it was in V5.
In version 5, I was able to create Port Profiles that included PoE, LLDP and also VLAN settings (native/untagged/tagged) for different scenarios such as Clients, VoIP, AP/Uplink, etc.
I could then assign these profiles to ports with a single click.
→ This was extremely efficient for large deployments.
In Omada V6, VLAN settings have been removed from Port Profiles.
Even on fully managed models like SX6632YF, each port now requires manual configuration of native VLAN and tagged VLANs, which significantly increases configuration time – especially when working with multiple switches and ports.
❓ Questions / Request to TP-Link:
-
Is there a plan to bring back VLAN Profiles / Port-VLAN-Profiles in Omada?
-
If yes, is there any estimated timeframe or beta roadmap?
-
If not, is there any recommended workaround other than configuring VLANs manually for each port?
-
Due to the considerable loss of convenience compared to V5, could VLAN-Port-Profiles be considered as a feature request?
