I finally got around to upgrading the firmware of my EAP211s since the Omada controller has a bug and thought the v1.0.0 2024 firmware was up to date. I upgraded from 1.0.0 to 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 as suggested in the directions.

No other settings were changed, radio settings were at Auto. I even cycled through all the channels manually to see if I could get the better signal back. The Auto power has a setting of 25 for both.

Is this normal with all the changes made in the firmware from 1.0.0 to 1.1.3? I unfortunately can't reverse the firmware now.

I also did a speed test and only got about 200Mbps both ways on channel 44, sometimes less. When I change it to channel 153 I get about 330Mbps one way and about 170Mbps the other. I couldn't do any speed tests before the firmware upgrade, since that option wasn't added to v1.0.0 yet.

The bridges are about 100 feet apart with no obstructions. One of them might be just a little bit pointing to the side, but really they're just about pointing at each other and are at about the same height, top of chimney height.

Are there any settings I should look at to change?

Hi  @MrTom

Thanks for posting here.

For comparison, please show a screenshot of the signal before the upgrade (place the mouse cursor at some time point before the upgrade).

You may have a look at the above KB, and check if any of below did the trick:

@Vincent-TP Ok, here's another SNR drop screen grab. I couldn't find the RSSI history anymore ever since upgrading the OC200 to v6.0.0.36.

I did another speed test and it states about 182Mbps both ways. That seems pretty low for a wireless bridge only 100 feet apart in open air.

@Vincent-TP Ran a speed test in the app. Not sure what the Tx Rate of 780Mbps is, but it doesn't appear to be getting even close to that.

Hi  @MrTom

Thank you for getting back to me. It appears that the signal has indeed decreased. Does the time of the signal drop coincide with the time you upgraded the firmware? During this period, besides the firmware upgrade, were there any other changes made? Have you noticed any potential environmental factors mentioned earlier? Each version of our firmware undergoes rigorous testing before release, so it is unlikely that the firmware upgrade alone is causing this issue. Based on the current information, we cannot draw a definitive conclusion. Also, could you let me know if you're having any issues with usage?
