Feature Request - Better separation of sound alarm tones
I would like to request a small improvement to the alarm/audio system to allow better separation of alarm tones across events.
Currently, manual siren activation, interference events, and all detection events share the same global tone. Separating the tone settings into three categories would improve clarity while keeping the system simple.
• Manual alarm activation should have its own dedicated tone. This action is intentional and user‑controlled, so it should not share audio with automatic events.
• Interference events (tamper and scene change) should use a separate tone. These events indicate that the camera is being physically moved or obstructed, and they need to be clearly distinguished from both manual activation and normal detections.
• All detection events can share a single tone. This includes motion, human/vehicle detection, line crossing, region entry/exit, intrusion, loitering, object events, and abnormal sound. Keeping these unified avoids overlapping tones and unnecessary complexity.
This three‑group structure keeps the system simple and provides clear separation between user actions, camera interference, and analytics‑based detections. It would make the sound‑alarm active defence more practical to use while avoiding major UI or firmware changes.
Thank you for considering this enhancement.
