Hi, I have a single AP that I'm planning to use in an open farming field with no trees higher than 2 meters. I'm planing to mount it on the barn to hopefully get a maximum connection of 500 meters. According to the specifications i should get up to 15 KM but i tested it with AP mode, distance set to 4 km and yet could get a connection after 100m on a clear line of sight! Is it related to wrong configuration or i can't get a straight connection up to 500 meters with a single unit? Thanks.

you should use this 5210 how AP mode...this device is a CPE for conection PtP. and 15Km only is "possible" with external antenas how the TL-ANT2424B...

the use is with integrated antenna is directional, 60°H 30°V should aligned to sector to coverage, or change and connect an external antenna omni for radiate 360°... for 500 mts in all directions is possible conect every CPE as client... if only trees to max two metters, the 5210 are place to 5 metters to high or more over floor level...

if you only should connect cell phones tablets or other portable devices the max long conect possible is 100 or 150 metters..., is for the small power of devices portables...

for 500 mts set the distance in the 5210 at 0.7km. and the power at 25dBm, the antenna omni to usage are betwen 9dBi - 15dBi... caution only use external antennas for this proposal...

observation: only is possible connect max 15 devices to 5210... this for the small resources how internal memory and processor... more devices connect cuses inestability in the 5210...

regards...

are you trying to connect a mobile phone? then of course you cannot get signal over 100meters. It is the mobile phone that has weak signal so it cannot reach over 100meters

Are you sure no signal over 100 mts.?
When I had my 5210 I connected from 778 mts. from iPhone4, iPad2 and Laptop, I'm not posting it's ideal, but 100 mts. come on, that line comes from UBNT forum.

ooops, thanks for your correctness, what I wanted to say is, in this case, it's the mobile wireless devices that limit the distance.:)
