Model: VIGI NVR1008H
Hardware Version: V20
Firmware Version: 1.5.1 build

Hello,

We are currently using the VIGI NVR1008H 8-Channel NVR.

I am writing to ask a few questions regarding this product.

According to the official documentation, whether the hardware version is 2.20 or 2.30, the NVR should be able to recognize devices and perform recording using the ONVIF protocol. Also, when an event trigger occurs from an on-device edge board, it should be possible to send a recording signal to the NVR.

However, this function does not work on hardware version 2.20, so I would like to inquire about this issue. The function appeared to work on hardware version 2.30. We also have previous delivery experience using the VIGI NVR1016H 16-Channel NVR.

In addition, we need to connect third-party devices, including third-party cameras and an edge board. When an event occurs, a signal needs to be sent to the NVR for recording. However, this is currently not working on hardware version 2.20.

If there is someone who can provide a professional technical answer regarding this matter, or if you could provide the appropriate contact email address for this inquiry, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi,  @leegeunjae

Thank you for posting your inquiry on our commercial forum.

If you wish to add a third-party camera to your NVR, you may attempt to add it via the ONVIF protocol. All cameras compatible with the ONVIF protocol can be added to your VIGI NVR. You may refer to the instructions below for adding a third-party camera to your NVR via ONVIF: How to add third-party cameras to VIGI NVR via ONVIF | TP-Link

With regards to the function you mentioned — where the NVR receives a trigger signal from a third-party edge board to initiate recording — we would like to confirm a few details with you first: what is the specific type of your edge board device? Is it a third-party alarm device?

For your clarification, the NVR1008H does not support integration with third-party alarm devices, as it is not equipped with an alarm input interface.

If we have misunderstood any part of your request, please feel free to point it out at your convenience, and kindly share more complete details with us if needed.
