Hi,

I am trying to setup a point-to-point Wi-Fi connection and I was wondering if I can use TP-WA5210 CPE at one end of the connection and TP-WA7210 Access Point at the other. Are the two devices compatible?

Many thanks.

TL-WA5210 and TL-WA7210 both work in the 2.4 GHz frequency band, so indeed they are compatible to each other.

Only difference in protocols is that WA7210 supports 802.11b/g/n with up to 150 Mbps wireless speed, while WA5210 provides only 802.11b/g with up to 54 Mbps wireless speed. So a combination of WA5210/7210 would negotiate to max. 54 Mbps in mode g.

I agree with Johnsontp that a pair of CPE210/CPE220s or even better a pair of CPE510/520s would be much more suitable for a directional PtP link.
