Firmware Version : 1.0.2 Build 20160526 Rel.34615 Configuring VLANS on the SG108E has been giving me all sorts of problems and I think I finally figured out that is is caused by the fact that the switch forwards all untagged broadcast packages to a VLAN'ed port. I guess that is cause be the fact that it is not possible to remove a port form the default vlan (1) hence all untagged broadcast packages will be forwarded on all ports. This basically makes VLAN's completely useless on this switch model because it will make running broadcast reliant applications on separate VLAN's impossible. I can see that R2D1 (sorry if i got his name wrong) have reported the VLAN 1 problem to tp-link support and it does not seem that they have been open to providing a fix. Does anyone know if the more expensive enterprise class tp-link switches has the same "feature" if that is the case then I will have to cancel the order i have just put in for T1600-s28's pappaoak |
