I have multiple problems with OpenVPN - for example the client doesn't install on any Windows 10 machine I've tried it on.
It fails with tapinstall.exe failed.

To get things working I am using a Windows XP with an older version of the client.

It connects but I can't setup a static route and I can't ping anything on the local network.

How are VPN clients suppose to access the local network when they can't use the same sub-net and you can't set up a static route?

I have given up trying to get OpenVPN to work.
This is because the OpenVPN people don't seem to understand that there is a problem with the latest Windows 10.
I have switched to PPTP - but I'm having problems with it too.
