How to Configure Client Recognition on Omada Controller
How is this helpful?
Client Recognition can be used for network troubleshooting. For example, a network has many reports of mobile devices getting disconnected from the network. The problem is that only a certain subset of users are experiencing the issue. The network administrator collects the names of the users, but checks in the Omada Controller to see if any information can be gathered about the devices having the issue.
Thanks to Client Recognition, the administrator can check the connection health of devices. Upon doing so, they come to the conclusion that only certain models of Android devices are experiencing the issue. Finally, after checking on the Internet, they discover that a recent OS patch caused incompatibilities with certain Wi-Fi protocols, finding the root cause of the issue.
