WDR4300 has small antennas - 2,4GHz inside casing. This is main reason less radio range in this band.

You can complete DNS and Gateway in DHCP Settings, next click SAVE and REBOOT router.

You have to complete gateway and DNS in main router (192.168.1.2), some problems may be resulted from tp-link setting (without wan) on first WR941.

Ok it's your choice, I think that was problem with DNS in original firmware.
