Firmware Version: CPE510(US)_V3_20190125

Hi, noob here.

For years I have been able to connect to my providers hotspots (such as Optimum Wifi, TWCWIFI etc.) using the CPE 510.

I was wondering if anyone can direct me how to connect to the newer versions, Hotspot 2.0 such as Optimum PassPoint and AlticeWIFI that require username and password input at the time of connection, unlike the older version that have a captive portal page.

Thank you!

@motec, no change.

Hotspot 2.0 is a protocol, which uses authentication credentials for WiFi hotspots your smartphone uses for the mobile (3G, 4G, 5G) network. This means you can only connect easily to the hotspots from your cell phone provider or from one of his roaming partners.

This looks cool at first glance, but in the end it only means that the telco provider can now also charge you for data consumption via WLAN networks, just as they already do when transferring data via the mobile network.
