Hi all,

I have a T1700X-16TS JetStream 12-Port 10GBase-T Smart Switch with 4 10G SFP+ Slots.

I have 2 servers connected to it which I would like to set up Wake On LAN for. WOL works fine with both of them on a dumb (unmanaged) switch, but when I connected them both to the JetStream, WOL no longer works. I used a packet sniffer and found that the magic packets aren't travelling from 1 server to the other (and vice versa). Both are on the same VLAN, on DHCP (through an external router).

Would anyone know what settings I need to change or set up on the switch to allow the magic packets to travel through the JetStream? I've disabled DoS and other protections but still no luck getting it to work.

Thanks in advance!

@DKHK

Do you have any IGMP snooping settings? Can you paste the screenshot of that?

@John1234 Thank you for your reply! I'd just about given up~

I tried playing around with IGMP but that didn't seem to have any impact either way. It is currently disabled - I've attached a screenshot. May I ask what the correct setting should be?

@DKHK

Try this guide first: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/2156/

Switch should pass through this packet.

Did you try the default settings on your switch?

Set up the static ARP on your switch

@John1234 Thank you for that. I saw that KB article actually but I thought it was only for communicating over the internet to another PC behind a TP-Link router.

Just to be clear, I just need to set up a static ARP and not all the other steps in that article, correct? Since some like virtual servers wouldn't apply in my case and even the binding steps are different since it's a different product (I just have a page to create a static ARP entry). I now have 2 entries  - 1 for each server. I also reserved IP addresses for each server on the DHCP server (which is in the router, not this switch).

@DKHK

That's right. IGMP, I am not sure. Leave the to be the default. I don't try or use Router--SW---PC. I am doing researches on this and trying to help you out. That'll also be some experience for me. Try the ARP.
